Original Item: Only One Available. Tank toys surged in popularity during WWII as a result of their visibility as a military machine. Though tanks were used in WWI, use was not universal and tank technology was not well-developed until WWII. Toys like this wood tank reflected a growing interest in tanks by children.
We are unsure as to the origins of this tank. We believe it was POW made, possibly done by a Japanese soldier during his time in internment. The tank itself appears to be the Type 95 Ha-Go Light Tank. The wood is presented without any extensive damage and all painted imagery is still present and easily distinguishable.
A lovely example of a handmade tank model, comes more than ready for further research and display.
